1371 - French forces recapture Poitiers.
1380 - United under the Grand Duchy of Moscow, the Russians defeat the Tataro-Mongol Golden Horde at the Battle of Kulikovo. This is the beginning of the end of Mongol rule over the Rus.

1396-At the Battle of Nicopolis, the Ottomans decisively defeat the last crusade of the Middle Ages, an attempt by the Hungarians under Sigismund, Holy Roman Emperor, and a Crusader army from France and England to lift the siege of Constantinople.
